A Training Center is only as good as the students that fill its classrooms.  If our students are not successful, we are not successful.   Below are just a few of the many student success stories happening at ComputerTraining.com at Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois LLC.

"Have you ever woke up and feel like not going to work because of your boss or your job is not getting you anywhere? I have good news for you. ComputerTraining.com will give you a whole new style of life.

Before attending ComputerTraining.com, I had no technical skills in the computer field; I was just an end user. Prior to my current job, I was working at the InterContinental Hotel with crazy hours and very hard to get weekends off. ComputerTraining.com taught me everything that I need to know to be successful in IT field. From the admissions staff to the instructor as well as the job placement person, everyone was very supportive, helpful and friendly.

ComputerTraining.com provided me with all the tools I need to get hands on training just like in real life. ComputerTraining.com also prepared me for the Microsoft Exam (MCP, MCSA, MCSE) by offering self-test software that gives me not just an idea about what I will face but the kind of preparation I need before taking the exams.

ComputerTraining.com helped me build my resume and assistance with finding a job before I even graduated. Now I have my weekends off and my own office. ComputerTraining.com has changed my life forever."

"For seven years, I worked in the mortgage industry, believing that, after years of floating from one job to another, I had finally found my niche. I worked hard and was passionate about what I did every day. And most importantly, even on the worst of days, I loved my job. I was able to buy a new house and gave birth to a perfect baby girl in December of 2006. Then one morning without notice, I woke up with no job, no security, and no clue of what I was going to do next.

That was March of 2007.

By this time, I had been hearing the commercials for ComputerTraining.com on the radio for a couple of months and had joked that I should take the Online Skills Challenge. I thought, “Why not? Everyone calls me when there’s a computer problem or question…why shouldn’t I get paid for work I’m already doing?” I continued to toss the idea around until, finally, I got online and just went for it.

I started classes in August of 2007.

It has not been an easy road for me. I’m a single mom of a beautiful fourteen month old girl, so finding time to study can be difficult. But even when she’s distracting me or I’m feeling guilty for not spending that time with her, I remember why I’m doing it all in the first place. I can honestly say that without my daughter, my family, and my friends, who include the staff here at ComputerTraining.com, I never would have made it through the program. The teachers and staff here have been nothing short of amazing, providing me with all of the help and support I needed, whether I asked for it or not. On the days that I wanted to quit because it was “too hard” their encouragement kept me going. They truly cared about my success and that fact was never a secret. So I’ve continued to work hard and, with every baby step along the way, I’ve proved that you can do anything you put your heart and mind to.

I successfully passed the MCP exam and I’m currently studying for the exams I need to pass for the MCSA and MCSE certificates. With my MCP, I was able to obtain an amazing job with a growing company where the skills and knowledge that I earned at ComputerTraining.com are not only valued, but put to the test every day. I work as a Customer Support Analyst, providing support to outside clients that utilize various CRM programs. I also act as a Network Administrator for my company, assisting with various projects and backing up our Network Engineer.

It is now February of 2008.

In less than one year, my entire world exploded into tiny pieces, which I then picked up and, along with the shiny new pieces that my education at ComputerTraining.com gave me, I have started to build an even better life with a brighter and stronger future for both my daughter and myself."

"My computer background was all self-taught before attending ComputerTraining.com. I was always the person my friends and family would go to when they were having computer problems. I didn't always know the answers but I was able to figure them out by researching and keeping at it. I considered getting certified and making a career change because I knew that what I would enjoy working in IT and I asked myself “why not choose a career that I liked?”

Right around the time of graduation, I began working in a help desk position with a very large publishing company and am now able to apply some of the skills I have learned. I enjoy my new job and I now have the opportunity to gain the experience required in order grow in the IT field.

My biggest concerns going into ComputerTraining.com was that I would not finish the program. I had previously dropped out of a University after attending for three years. After attending ComputerTraining.com for a while, I was able to overcome my fears. Once I received my first certification and I saw that I understood the concepts easily.

The advice I would give to new students entering the program is not to give up! Do not be discouraged if you fail an exam or two or three. Stay motivated, try harder, and you will be successful. The overall experience at ComputerTraining.com has completely changed my life because I have quickly and thoroughly gained the knowledge necessary to open the doors to many career paths within the IT field."

"Becoming downsized after nearly a decade in the financial services industry with bleak job prospects to boot was the impetus that made me do a lot of soul searching as to what the next step in my career should be. I was at a crossroads: Should I stay in my current industry and fruitlessly hope for the best or take a risk and begin a new career after all these years? I admit it was kind of scary at first.

Well let me tell you, my epiphany came one day while driving when I heard a commercial on the radio for ComputerTraining.com. After hearing that commercial, something just clicked and I said to myself, "Why not?" My computer background, as a user at least, was solid and I had the attitude that I have nothing to lose and all there is to gain!

I definitely have no regrets with my decision to pursue the MCSE program at ComputerTraining.com. I like the fact that I've gained a wealth of knowledge, new skills, and the opportunity to earn an MCP certification, so far! I'm confident my new training in IT will foster several new career opportunities to come.

So if you really have the will to pursue this program, ComputerTraining.com will provide you the way. Your will consist of strong focus and commitment: keeping up with reading of material, timely completion of homework assignments, and good attendance, for example. ComputerTraining.com's way is highly skilled and experienced instructors willing to help you and a caring staff. Incorporate these two and chances are you'll be very successful in the program as I was. It's a sound investment in yourself, your career, and your future."

"I first started computing at the age of 14, and I have always enjoyed tinkering with technology. When I graduated from high school I did not have the financial ability to put myself through college. One day I started hearing radio commercials for ComputerTraining.com, of course I was skeptical. I had heard these types of advertisements before about other educational paths, but they never interested me. A few weeks went by and the thought never left my mind about how great it would be to put my skills toward a career in computers.

So one weekend on a Sunday night, I was tired and stressed about my future and my career path. I heard the advertisement for ComputerTraining.com and decided to take the Online Skills Challenge. I did well enough on the test and received a call back within eight hours of taking it. When I went to visit the campus, the very knowledgeable staff informed me of all the details of the program.

A month later I started my classes and even though I was signed up for the program and on my way to my first class I still had some doubts because I am not easily persuaded. But only six months later I was Microsoft Certified and had one of the best classroom experiences I have ever had in my life.

Our instructor had an amazing personality and was knowledgeable about all the materials we had to learn, including lots of experiences to talk about within her own IT career. We received a ton of hands-on experience, which in the long run, counts more than learning from a textbook in my opinion.

After graduation, a couple of months went by and I was looking for a position. Initially, I could not find a company that was just right for me. One day I received a call from my Director of Placement with an opening that really sparked my interest. I went to the interview and the rest is history! Ever since I started with my new company, I have been happy to go into work each day while enjoying the challenges that comes my way.

I am a Network Operations Controller for one of the biggest wireless broadband Internet service providers in Chicago and surrounding suburban areas. Being in an environment that I love and a job that is fun and interesting is not something you come by easily. It was worth all of my time and effort. I was no longer skeptical of the potential this program can give to people if they work hard!"

"My experience with computers prior to enrolling at ComputerTraining.com mainly dealt with web and graphic design. Having studied music in college and spending more than ten years in the music industry and making no financial progress, I was inspired to seek a career change. Outside of music, the only thing that I enjoyed was computers and taking these classes was the perfect opportunity to get my foot in the door of this extensive field.

The first few weeks of class were extremely challenging, especially learning about aspects of the Microsoft OS any casual user takes for granted. If it weren’t for the tremendous support from my instructor and fellow classmates, I don’t know if I would have been able to get through it all.

The cliché “never give up” is an understatement when taking these courses. On several occasions it was almost unfeasible to read another chapter, take another self-test, drink another pot of coffee and most of all, register to take another exam! The most important thing to look back on when you’re right in the thick of it, was how determined you were at the beginning and how rewarding the outcome will be. Always remember that if you prove that you’re putting forth the effort you have the greatest resource in the world in your instructor and he/she will always be there for you. From the first exam to every other exam I take, my instructor will always be the first person I call after passing or failing. I know she will always be there supporting me.

Now I am working with an outstanding and successful IT consulting firm, there is no ceiling on my career. I am making more than double my salary from only two months ago and my company has already subsidized further training and certifications. Prior to taking my first Microsoft exam, my instructor told us that we know a lot more than we give ourselves credit for and she couldn’t have been more precise. The training I attained from ComputerTraining.com far exceeded my expectations. They were immediately valuable the first day on the job and still are to this day. It is amazing to think about how much I’ve learned in the past six months. I would have to say it’s without question comparable to an entire year of college, if not an entire four years!"

"While serving in the U.S. Air Force and working as a computer operator, I caught a glimpse of how challenging and rewarding the Information Technology field can be. That is when I decided to pursue an IT education back home in Chicago. I was about to finish with my Bachelor’s degree in Network and Communications management when I came to the conclusion that I was still missing something.  I felt like I had a solid core set of skills, but was lacking the skill or knowledge of a certain technology that would set me apart from the rest.  That is where ComputerTraining.com came in.

ComputerTraining.com provided me with the knowledge and confidence to go out there and acquire the type of job that I was looking for, one that is challenging, rewarding, and with plenty of room for advancement. I am now working as a network administrator for a medical consulting company in Chicago. I work on everything from Active Directory and Exchange administration to researching and implementing new technologies that will allow my company to grow, improve business processes and prosper. It is a very rewarding feeling for me to know that I have helped out my company acquire a new client or improve the operational process of an existing one.  The sky is the limit from here on out.

I of course had my reservations about signing up for ComputerTraining.com. But those reservations were quickly put to rest from the very beginning. The layout of the program is one that is easy to follow and in my mind, one that that fully prepares you to attain your certifications; and the patience, dedication, and professionalism of my instructor and the rest of the staff was exceptional. Attending ComputerTraining.com was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

My advice to prospective students is just to do the research and make sure that the IT field is one that they want to pursue. And for those that to decide on taking that challenge, I would definitely recommend that ComputerTraining.com be the avenue they take. And as with anything else in life, what you get out of it depends on how much you are willing to put into it."

"Before I went to ComputerTraining.com, I was a mechanic for two years, and I drove a semi for eight years before that. I am also a firefighter.

I had also been into building computers for over seven years, and always wondered if I could make it in the IT world. I never seriously considered it, though. Then one time, I heard an ad on the radio. Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to try the Online Skills Challenge.

I kind of forgot about it until I received a phone call a few days later. Apparently, I did a good job on the test, and was invited to go to ComputerTraining.com to visit with the teachers and staff, and see if I qualified to enroll. Knowing that I didn’t have to make a decision right away, I went. I have to admit, I was truly impressed with what I saw! But I wasn’t quite ready to just jump in and sign up. I wanted to research the school first, and take a look at my financial situation.

My research showed me that the school is very reputable, and the course is an excellent course. After much thought, I decided to enroll. School agreed to work with my schedule, and I was able to enroll a few months later. They helped me along every step of the way.

While I was in school, I really got to know my fellow students and my teacher extremely well. We always had fun in class, and at the same time, we learned a LOT! Don’t get me wrong. It is an extremely hefty course, and you absolutely MUST study and do your work to make it through the class. But the technical trainer helped us along every step of the way, and always made it fun.

The rest of the staff was great too. I was always greeted with a warm smile when I walked through the doors, coming and going. Our Director of Placement is extremely outgoing, and really wants us to succeed! She showed us stuff that would never be considered by an interviewee while going on an interview.

After I graduated, she did an excellent job finding me interviews, and, ultimately, a job. I had a job three months after graduating because of two things: one, my MCP certification which I found out is almost impossible to find a job without, and two, because the Director of Placement was extremely persistent with potential employers, and was very supportive of me. Without her, or my certification, I would never have gotten my first or second job.

Before I finish this, I do have to make one suggestion to you, the future student here. Study as much as possible, and take the certification tests right away! It will help you with your grades, and it will help you with your job searching."

"When it came to computers, I wasn’t much more than just a casual user. I had only the vaguest idea of what a server was, let alone how to build one up and make it function properly. I didn’t have a clue what I was getting myself into. I just knew that I liked working with computers, and I was determined to make this work. I had to make a complete career change in order to create a better future for myself.

Just a few days before the course ended, I was hired on as a help desk analyst with a great company. It’s a springboard to greater things, and with each day I’m taking on more responsibility. I’ve been told on several occasions how glad my coworkers are to have me aboard.

This is a testament to the quality of education you will receive with this program, as long as you’re willing to put in the effort to learn. The support you will receive is incredible, and anyone with a passion for technology and the motivation to change their circumstances can make amazing things happen with this opportunity."

"When I first learned about ComputerTraining.com, I was a little apprehensive about starting the program because of the commitment that was involved. I had a general knowledge of computers, but never worked in the field. Talking to the admissions director really put me at ease and made me realize that I was making the right choice.

The coursework was a challenge, but I learned so much in the time that I was there that I understood why the coursework was so challenging.  I use everything that I learned from ComputerTraining.com in my new career. All of my training made the transition very smooth. Now, I am working as a Computer Support Specialist at a very large and reputable company using the skills that I gained from ComputerTraining.com. My pay scale has also dramatically increased since the career change and will continue growing.

The staff is wonderful, very supportive, and were there for me whenever I needed them. ComputerTraining.com changed my life!"
